FA Cup: Salford City 1-1 Burton Albion highlights

Richie Towell's thunderbolt seven minutes from time earned Salford City an FA Cup replay as they drew with Burton.

League Two Salford's leveller means League One Burton remain without an FA Cup win since 2013.

Albion went close early on when David Templeton smashed an angled effort narrowly over the top.

Salford responded with Luke Armstrong firing straight at goalkeeper Kieran O'Hara.

The visitors almost made the breakthrough when Scott Fraser's well-struck free-kick was deflected behind off the Salford wall.

Albion had the ball in the back of the Salford net in the 31st minute, but the effort was ruled out for a handball just before John-Joe O'Toole headed home Fraser's corner-kick.

Just after the restart Salford skipper Adam Rooney was denied by a brilliant one-handed save from O'Hara.

Towell then blew a terrific chance when he fired over from eight yards after meeting sub Danny Whitehead's smart pass.

At the other end Chris Neal was acrobatic as he tipped over Fraser's 25-yard strike.

Fraser side-footed home following Lucas Akins' pass in the 78th minute, before Towell lashed home from 22 yards after meeting Rooney's lay-off.
