Women's Super League: Manchester United 2-0 Reading

  • Published

Manchester United beat Reading to secure their third successive victory in this season's Women's Super League.

After Leah Galton was denied by Grace Moloney inside the opening 45 seconds, the hosts took the lead through Kirsty Hanson's volley at the back post.

Reading looked more dangerous after the break as Fara Williams fired just wide and saw two free-kicks go over the bar.

Jess Sigsworth wrapped the game up when she latched onto Jackie Groenen's through ball to fire low past Moloney.

Sigsworth had earlier shot wide after she found space inside the Reading box.

Despite an improved second-half performance by the visitors, Manchester United were good value for their victory in the first league meeting between the two sides.
