WSL: West Ham United 1-0 Birmingham City - Adriana Leon gives Hammers slender win

  • Published

West Ham United collected their first win of the season defeating Birmingham City 1-0 in the WSL.

Canada international Adriana Leon put the hosts ahead after 27 minutes with a controlled finish.

And they had a superb chance to double their advantage but Martha Thomas placed her effort narrowly wide.

Birmingham thought they had equalised late on as Hammers keeper Courtney Brosnan fumbled Lucy Staniforth's 30-yard effort onto the bar.
