Burton Albion 0-0 Coventry City

A hard-earned point from a frenetic but goalless draw away at Burton was enough to send Coventry City top of League One.

In a fast paced first half neither side could find the all-important breakthrough.

Despite the hosts enjoying the lion's share of the opening half it was City's Zain Westbrooke who went closest to grabbing a goal with a rasping 25-yard effort than thundered back off the post after 23 minutes.

John Brayford rippled the side netting with a powerful effort and Liam Boyce was inches away from finishing off an Oliver Sarkic cross as the Brewers pressed.

Lucas Akins twice went close early in the second half and former Albion defender Kyle McFadzean had to make several important blocks to deny his former side.

Jordy Hiwula forced Kieran O'Hara into a good save from a stinging effort with 15 minutes remaining before home substitute Nathan Broadhead curled an excellent free-kick against the post with Marko Marosi in the City goal beaten.

The visitors almost snatched it late on when substitute Gervane Kasteneer shot from a tight angle and Hiwula just failed to make contact at the far post.
