Yeovil Town 3-1 Notts County

  • Published

Yeovil eased to a 3-1 win over Notts County in the battle of two teams relegated to the National League last season.

Wes Thomas hooked a close-range effort over for County before Charlie Lee hit the bar at the other end with a spectacular scissor-kick.

Yeovil's opener arrived five minutes before half-time as debutant Gold Omotayo headed the ball down for Courtney Duffus to clip home.

Matt Worthington's goal-line clearance denied Ben Turner an equaliser early in the second half and Thomas hit the bar, but it was Yeovil who wrapped up victory in the final 10 minutes.

Luke Wilkinson headed the second and Myles Hippolyte fired the third to render Kristian Dennis' stoppage-time penalty mere consolation.
