Kevin Stewart missed a good chance to give Hull the lead at Millwall
Kamil Grosicki netted an astonishing 40-yard free-kick to earn nine-man Hull City a point at Millwall.
The Poland winger's curling effort from the touchline sailed over compatriot Bartosz Bialkowski in the 18th minute to cancel out Jed Wallace's penalty.
The Tigers should have increased that tally, with Kevin Stewart squandering their best chance of a winner.
But they finished with nine men after using all their substitutes - only for the third of those, Jon Toral, to limp off injured - before Josh Magennis was shown a red card.
The lively Grosicki plagued Millwall's defence from the start and set up an early opportunity for Jarrod Bowen, who dragged his finish wide.
But the Lions snatched a 10th-minute lead when Jordy de Wijs brought down Matt Smith in the box and Wallace marked his return from suspension by rifling home the spot-kick.
However, Grosicki's equaliser eight minutes later stunned the home side and Hull should have gone ahead when Bowen forced a save from Bialkowski, only for Stewart to put the rebound wide.
Bowen went close again in the second half, but the visitors were reduced to 10 men when Toral was forced to withdraw just five minutes after coming on.
They were further depleted when Magennis picked up his second booking for a foul on Leonard in added time, but held on to draw despite late chances for Leonard and Alex Pearce.
Millwall manager Neil Harris:
"I just said to the players that I'm disappointed with them in the sense that we got into some really good areas and we dominated the second half territory-wise, but didn't deliver quality in the moments we needed it.
"The amount of times we got into good areas and turned down opportunities to cross or shoot was disappointing. We do loads of crossing and shooting and work to get into those areas and we didn't do it. Connor Mahoney had the best crossing stats in the league last year- that's why we signed him. He didn't want to put a ball in the box.
"We should have beaten Hull and we should have beaten Boro last week. So, I can look at the disappointment of not having the points but I can also look at it and say it's a good start to the season for us."
Hull City manager Grant McCann:
"It's a good point. Coming to Millwall at any stage of the season, it's always a good point. We felt we had a referee who got sucked into the occasion a little bit.
"The penalty was harsh. If he's going to give that one, he's got to give Josh Magennis's at the other end, where he gets clipped.
"We answered a lot of questions. We showed what we're all about, how dogged and defensive we can be. Neil's got them playing tremendously here but we had the better chances, especially in the first half. And second half we showed a real dogged display."
