Dover edged a point closer to safety following an uninspiring goalless National League draw with Chesterfield at the Crabble.
The result was enough to confirm the survival of the Spireites, who endured a desperate 18-match winless run from mid-August to mid-November last year that suggested a relegation battle was in the offing.
Dover came close to a breakthrough midway through the second half when Kevin Lokko's header was cleared off the line.
At the other end, Chesterfield's best chance was a double effort late on as goalkeeper Lee Worgan and defender Lokko blocked from substitute Alex Kiwomya and Laurence Maguire respectively.
With four matches remaining Dover are one place but nine points above the relegation zone.
