Chesterfield 2-0 Dagenham & Redbridge

  • Published

Early second-half goals from Jonathan Smith and Scott Boden gave Chesterfield a comfortable win over Dagenham & Redbridge.

Neither side could craft any clear-cut chances in the first half, but matters sprang into life in spectacular style just after the interval.

The Spireites scored twice within five minutes, the first from Smith, who sent a fine low strike past Elliot Justham from 25 yards.

Three minutes later, Joe Rowley played in Boden who found the left corner with a precise shot for his 19th goal of the season.

Chesterfield's third win in a row takes them past the 50-point mark, hauling them comfortably clear of an end-of-season relegation battle, while the Daggers are eight points clear of the drop zone in 19th.
