AFC Fylde 0-1 Chesterfield

  • Published

Revitalised Chesterfield pulled off the best win of their recent seven-match unbeaten league run as they triumphed at AFC Fylde.

Veteran striker Marc-Antoine Fortune showed his class after 13 minutes, peeling off past two static home defenders and slotting into the bottom right corner.

It was always going to be a tough assignment for the Spireites, though, and Nick Haughton rattled a post later in the half.

Despite applying all the pressure in the second period, the Coasters could not find the breakthrough.

Dan Bradley curled an effort on to an upright late on before visiting goalkeeper Shwan Jalal plunged to deny the league's top scorer Danny Rowe in a gripping but ultimately unrewarding finale for Fylde.
