A double from Lucas Akins and a precise finish from David Templeton saw Wycombe Wanderers suffer a second straight League One defeat as Burton Albion got back to winning ways at the Pirelli Stadium.
An open first half saw Albion unlucky to fall behind when Buxton sliced Joe Jacobson's cross into his own net in the 27th minute.
But the Brewers, who had already gone close with winger Marcus Harness forcing Chairboys keeper Ryan Allsop into a fine save low to his right, hit back with two goals in quick succession.
Akins found just enough room to blast a shot home after a surging run from left-back Reece Hutchinson.
The goalscorer then turned provider to pick out substitute David Templeton at the back post, the Scot finding the bottom corner unerringly from 15 yards.
Albion's third goal deep into first-half stoppage time was a reward for Harness' persistence as he worked room to cross for Akins to fire home from inside the six-yard box.
Despite pressure in the second half Wycombe could not get themselves back into it and Albion held on to claim the points.
