Chesterfield 2-0 Salford City

Alex Kiwomya's double sent Salford crashing to their first National League defeat in 21 matches as Chesterfield picked up a shock win at the Proact Stadium.

The hosts took the lead inside two minutes when on-loan Doncaster forward Kiwomya tapped home after fine work from Levi Amantchi down the right.

Chances were at a premium for the remainder of the first half, but it did not take long for Chesterfield to double their lead in the second period.

Kiwomya was the quickest to react to Jordan Hallam's shot bouncing off a post and he slotted home his second of the day.

Salford almost pulled a goal back in the 74th minute, but Callum Burton denied Dennis Politic and Carl Piergianni's shot was then cleared off the line by Jerome Binnom-Williams.

Burton then kept out Piergianni's header from close range to help the home side move out of the relegation zone.
