FA Cup: Chesterfield 0-2 Grimsby Town highlights
Goals in either half were enough for League Two Grimsby to defeat National League Chesterfield in the FA Cup second round.
The Mariners took the lead when Charles Vernam poked in from close range after meeting the path of Wes Thomas' flick-on from a Ben Pringle corner.
Chesterfield pressed for a leveller after the break as Curtis Weston had a goal-bound shot deflected behind for a corner.
But Grimsby doubled their lead moments later when Harry Clifton raced on to Thomas' through ball and finished at the second attempt after Callum Burton had saved his initial shot.
Defeat for Chesterfield ends their peculiar unbeaten run this season.
Martin Allen's side have gone 19 National League matches without a win, but came into this tie 12 games unbeaten in all competitions, with two wins in the FA Cup and 10 draws, including nine in a row in the league.
They were unfortunate not to take an early lead when Alex Kiwomya's dangerous cross was met by the head of Tom Denton, but Grimsby keeper James McKeown somehow got down to scramble it off the line.
