There was an air of fortune about Craig Bryson's equaliser for Derby County

Craig Bryson's late goal rescued a point for Derby County against Norwich City in the Championship.

The midfielder bundled in Martyn Waghorn's left-wing cross off his knee with four minutes left to deny the Canaries a fifth league win in a row.

Timm Klose had given the visitors the lead at Pride Park midway through the second half when he met Emi Buendia's corner and powered a header past Scott Carson from six yards.

Moments before the equaliser, Norwich goalkeeper Tim Krul had kept out Rams forward Mason Mount, superbly tipping his effort over the bar.

Derby have only won one of their past five league matches, but are only out of the play-offs on goal difference in a congested early-season table. Norwich are a point ahead of the Rams in fifth.

It was a game of few clear cut chances apart from the two goals, although Carson did well to save efforts from Jamal Lewis and Todd Cantwell before the break.

Former Newcastle keeper Krul also saved from David Nugent and Mount in the first half, with a point probably deserved by both sides.

Derby manager Frank Lampard told BBC Radio Derby:

"It shows you what urgency and desire to try and win a game does to you. It was a tough game, the last 20 minutes we felt like we could have won it, but they had strong moments so it was probably a fair enough result.

"I'm delighted with the character and I think the fans go home relatively happy when they see the team fight until the end like they did."

Norwich boss Daniel Farke:

"It was a really good game of high quality with both teams of similar style trying to dominate the ball and play with many combinations.

"Some periods Derby were on the front foot, sometimes we were on the front foot and in the end it's always disappointing when you concede such a late equaliser but it's a fair result."
