Morgan Ferrier scored his fourth goal of the season as Walsall earned victory at struggling Oxford.
Zeli Ismail also netted at the Kassam Stadium as the Saddlers extended their unbeaten away run to five games in League One.
Walsall should have taken the lead early on as Jon Guthrie headed straight at Jonathan Mitchell from a yard out.
The visitors managed to break the deadlock when Ferrier beat the offside trap and fired home.
Oxford looked for an immediate response and George Dobson headed on to his own crossbar after John Mousinho had guided a corner goalwards.
Walsall should have doubled their lead before the break but Josh Gordon's volley hit a post and Ferrier fired the loose ball onto the bar.
The visitors did double their lead as Ismail drilled into the bottom corner, before Ferrier headed against the bar as Walsall continued to cause problems.
James Henry pulled one back as he stabbed home from close range but the hosts could not force a late leveller.
