Coventry City 1-2 Scunthorpe United

Andy Dales netted a late winner as Scunthorpe came from behind to beat newly-promoted Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena.

Jordy Hiwula twice went close inside the first 30 minutes as the home side started strongly. But Lee Novak headed against the post two minutes later for Scunthorpe, before Charlie Goode had a header cleared off the line by Dujon Sterling.

It had looked like the Sky Blues would enjoy a dream start to life back in League One when Tony Andreu gave the hosts a 52nd-minute lead with a brilliant free-kick from 25 yards.

But the Iron showed their steel to level through Stephen Humphrys in the 68th minute, a composed debut goal from substitute Duane Holmes' pass.

And the comeback was complete when Dales smashed home on his debut after Holmes showed good strength to hold off his man.
