Chesterfield 0-0 Rochdale

  • Published

Both goalkeepers were on top as Chesterfield and Rochdale played out an entertaining goalless draw.

Dale keeper Josh Lillis produced a stunning stop to deny former Wolves striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, before Tommy Lee twice saved from Donal McDermott.

Ian Evatt headed over for Chesterfield, while debutant Lee Novak also went close for the home side.

McDermott went close with a free-kick but both sides settled for a point.

Rochdale manager Keith Hill told BBC Radio Manchester:

"We should have won the game, there is no question about it.

"I'm disappointed but if I try and rewind to last season, I think we might have lost that that game.

"We didn't so I think we're making progress."
