Chester 2-0 Southport

Kieran Charnock scored inside three minutes against Southport to set Chester up for their first victory in three matches.

The defender got on the end of John Rooney's corner to nod the hosts ahead from six yards.

Sean McConville linked up with Craig Hobson, who found the bottom corner for Chester's second.

Jon Worsnop dealt with Southport's only real threat in the first half, parrying a Richard Brodie effort.
