Matt Doherty signs new Wolves contract

Teenage Wolves full-back Matt Doherty has signed a new three-year contract, keeping him at Molineux until 2014.

The 19-year-old Irishman, who joined from Bohemians in August 2010, made his third senior start in Tuesday's 5-0 Carling Cup over Millwall.

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy told the club website:, external "He reminds me a lot of Kev Foley in the way he plays.

"He has another really solid and mature performance. He's just signed a new contract and I'm delighted with him."

He added: "The Doc was great [against Millwall] and his use of the ball was as good as anybody's."
