Barnet set to extend top-scorer Izale McLeod's contract

McLeod has featured on 30 occasions for the Bees this season

Barnet are to extend the contract of striker Izale McLeod by a further year.

The 26-year-old former Charlton man top-scored with 14 goals for the Bees this season after arriving in November.

McLeod converted a final-day penalty in the 1-0 win against Port Vale, external at Underhill that preserved his side's League Two status.

Barnet also confirmed that Michael Stone will stay on as first-team coach, working with new manager Lawrie Sanchez and assistant Giuliano Grazioli.

Stone was first appointed to the role, external in the May 2010.

He told the club's website: "I am very excited about it. I worked with Lawrie during the final games of last season and was delighted to get a call from him inviting me to be part of his backroom team.

"I am looking forward to us building a squad and to the pre-season preparations."
