    A record-breaking £5m prize pool is on offer at this year's tournament, with £1m going to the winner.

    Any player hitting a nine-darter will be awarded an additional £60,000. One lucky fan in attendance will also receive £60,000 from the tournament sponsor, as will Prostate Cancer UK.

    Luke Littler, speaking to Sky Sports: "I'm happy with it. I was getting away with it, every dart he missed was crucial and if he hit them it was a completely different game. I'm glad he missed and then I got the job done.

    "I am definitely enjoying it tonight. I was lucky to win that first set, since I got that I was settled. I'm happy.

    "I missed 10 darts, he missed 16. If he hit his doubles, then it is a completely different game.

    On wanting to win back-to-back titles: "Since the Grand Slam and Grand Prix, the talk is the build-up to the Worlds. Back-to-back is the only thing I want."

    On facing Mensur SuIjovic in the third round: "I watched it this afternoon and he played well. When the tournament draw came out, Mensur messaged me and said 'see you in round three'. Mensur, let's have a good game."
