We are officially six nights of Premier League darts action down.

Jonny Clayton is the first player to claim two nightly wins, with tonight's finalist Luke Humphries, Gian van Veen and Josh Rock all waiting for their first breakthroughs.

The Ferret is now eight points clear at the top of the table, but other shared out results make for a very competitive rest of the table as it stands.

Jonny Clayton speaking to Sky Sports after his Premier League victory in Nottingham: "What a great night, I wasn't expecting much. I'm suffering with gout in my ankles but my arm was okay by the look of it and that's all that counts.

"I kept practicing because it gets worse when I sit down. So I thought 'I'm going to have to practice', it's the most I have done!

"Everybody is nicking points off everybody, I wasn't expecting to be top, eight points [clear], so I'm over the moon with that. It's great to have an early start, I know what it's about in getting points early so it's not a bad start.

"It's my favourite tournament and hopefully I'm showing why I should be here. You play against the best players week in week out and that's what I enjoy, the battle."

Demolition darts those. He should never have been in the leg but Luke Humphries shouldn't be giving away those opportunities.

Jonny Clayton has done so much right tonight. He'll be sitting comfortably top, never mind in the top four, and that's what it's all about.

    Clayton 2-0 Humphries

    Wayne Mardle
Former World Matchplay finalist on Sky Sports

No messing from Jonny Clayton. It wasn't a good start from Luke Humphries at all, it's not what we've seen from him tonight he's been good.

It's all about taking the chances you create. Luke's scoring has been more consistent than everyone in this Premier League but doubling we've alluded to.

  17. Clayton holdspublished at 22:35 GMT 12 March

    Clayton 2-0 Humphries

Luke Humphries can't take out 106, leaving Clayton to take out 24 and hold.

A huge 168 set Clayton up for that, and when given the chance he pounced on the Humphries error.

  18. Clayton breakspublished at 22:33 GMT 12 March

    Clayton 1-0 Humphries

Jonny Clayton hits 140 to surge ahead, before taking out 120.

That leaves the Ferret on 96, and he's millimetres away from D19.

Clayton requires 19, and he takes it on D8. Early break!

That was a poor start from Humphries - he never got going.
