England captain Harry Brook at the presentation: "We struggled in the field. The atmosphere wasn't as a good as when we played Sri Lanka and that was the main chat before we went out. Jacob Bethell said 'let's try to keep the intensity up and make sure our fielding is on point' but unfortunately he misfielded a couple. It was a bobbly outfield and we missed a couple unfortunately.

"The powerplay is important in any game of T20 cricket to get you off to a start. Jofra Archer has been awesome at doing that and it puts them on the back foot early. It's nice to win games of cricket even if it was nervy at the end. Thankfully we got off the line and we are into the semis. We'll focus on New Zealand now."

More from Will Jacks speaking to Sky Sports: "Harry Brook has led from the front. Bravery and taking the opposition on is not just a mindset it's calculating a risk and the options and what he has done brilliantly is targeted the sightscreen, then waited for them to drop short. He hasn't just had a wild slog sweep.

"Harry has shown his skill there. He scored a hundred but he hasn't really chased the game. That's the skill."

On his place in the side: "It's take a while to settle in. Coming on the tour to Sri Lanka [before the World Cup] I wasn't batting much and starting to get a bit annoyed, wanting time in the middle, but once I was happy with that and saying 'okay this is what I am' and not trying to fight it, you relax into the role. I am actually really enjoying it now.

"Going out there with the captain and my mates is great. In my first 25 games I was in and out but there was a lack of performance, nerves playing for England and all that stuff. I feel now, a bit older, relaxed and had some success in this position. It's a very good group and good leadership."

Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha speaking to Sky Sports: "Honestly, this is a very embarrassing defeat for us, it's really hard to accept this loss. Overall we played good cricket and we could've won the match. We are still hopeful that in the next match we can do well and make a comeback. We hope to reach the semi-finals still and win the World Cup trophy to make the whole country happy. With Allah by our side, everything is possible. Hopefully England also beat New Zealand for us."

On Usman Tariq: "He did really well today and that's all we ask from him. They batted really well against him because they weren't batting hard against him. They were just settling for the ones and twos."

On Harry Brook's innings: "He batted really well. We just have to say hats off to him for the way he batted today. When he's going the way he went today, it's difficult because he can bat the full 360 degrees of the ground."

England all-rounder Will Jacks speaking to Sky Sports: "We are very happy to secure a semi-final position with one game to go. It's very pleasing from a difficult game. Pakistan in these conditions are difficult opponents and thankfully the captain got us over the line.

"When I got out I was disappointed not to finish the game and then looking up at the scoreboard thinking you never know what's going to happen. You need to keep the TV on when watching us!"

On Harry Brook's century: "It was brilliant. Obviously he was given that extra responsibility going up to number three and a hundred straight away. It's difficult facing Shaheen [Afridi] early on and then we know the quality of their spinners.

"I imagine he knew he was batting at three before me - I only found out on the bus on the way to ground. I think he is our best batter and should face as many balls as possible. Whatever the team needs you to do. If he can face 10 or 15 balls in the powerplay then when the spinner comes on he's got rhthym. He can smack spin but obviously everyone finds it a struggle starting against spin."

England captain and player of the match Harry Brook: "I'm very happy with the way we played there. It's just nice to get through to the semi-finals now, but we still have one more game against New Zealand so we focus on that before the bigger prize at the other side.

"There's obviously areas that we still want to improve on. You can never quite get perfection but we are always striving for it."

On his promotion to number three: "It was all Baz [Brendon McCullum]. He came to me this morning and said that we might change things up with me in at three today. We have spoken about changing and adapting all sorts throughout this competition, so it was just about having the bravery to do that today. It was awesome.

"I haven't done it much but it was nice to get out there and face as many balls as possible. I was just happy that we got the job done to be honest [on getting my century]."
