Shahid Afridi made a stunning home debut by taking five wickets as Hampshire beat Gloucestershire by 16 runs in a rain-affected FL t20 game.

Muttiah Muralitharan (2-15) and Kane Williamson (2-18) helped the visitors restrict holders Hampshire to 139-7 at The Rose Bowl.

Gloucestershire then reached 80-5 after 12 overs when rain interrupted play.

They were set a revised total of 124 from 17 overs but Afridi (5-20) helped bowl them out for 107.

Williamson (50) matched his bowling performance with the bat but the rest of Gloucestershire's batsmen struggled.

Pakistan all-rounder Afridi's introduction sealed their fate as they lost their last five wickets for just 12 runs.
