That's two juicy games for you on Thanksgiving, as good as we expected and what could be two massive results in the play-off race.

Dallas did themselves a big favour but beating Kansas City has put the Chiefs in all kinds of trouble as Patrck Mahomes faces his first ever early end to a season having previously got to at least the AFC Championship game in every season of his career.

The Green Bay Packers have put a marker down in the NFC North that they're the main challengers to the Chicago Bears after their win in Detroit tonight, and the Lions now have to regroup as they face the flying Cowboys next up!

Stay tuned for a report on how the Baltimore Ravens get on against the Cincinnati Bengals and join us again on Sunday for another big slate of games in this elongated NFL week 13.

  2. Dak wins Mahomes duelpublished at 01:51 GMT 28 November 2025

Not too much between the two quarterbacks tonight - Patrick Mahomes threw four touchdowns to Dak Prescott's two, but the Dallas triggerman had 320 yards to Mahomes' 261.

Both produced the goods under pressure, as even when Mahomes' drives stalled it was due to a dropped catch or a penalty and not anything to do with his play.

You do wonder just what Mahomes could do with two receivers like CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens to throw to - I bet he wonders that at times as well.

This could be a huge win for Prescott though, perhaps even more so than against Philly on Sunday, as going head-to-head with Mahomes and coming out on top may do wonders for his confidence going forward - and he'll need plenty to lead Dallas to the play-offs.

For the first time in the Patrick Mahomes era, the Chiefs are in grave danger of missing out on the play-offs - Mahomes has so far made it to at least the AFC Championship game every season, losing just twice in those and advancing to five Super Bowls.

Now sat on 6-6 though it looks a huge ask for Kansas City to sneak in, as they'll probably have to win alll five remaining games - mainly due to the fact that wildcard rivals the Chargers, Jaguars and Bills have already beaten them this season so hold the tiebreak advantage.

They face the best defence in the league in the Texans next week before going up against divisional rivals the Chargers and Broncos - who will be extra fired up if they know they can end Kansas City's play-off hopes.

If anyone can, Mahomes can, but this looks like a tough schedule, is there any chance the Chiefs will make it?

    Chiefs' final fixtures

    • Texans 6-5 (H)
    • Chargers 7-4 (H)
    • Titans 1-10 (A)
    • Broncos 9-2 (H)
    • Raiders 2-9 (A)

  6. Dallas set for Detroit showdownpublished at 01:13 GMT 28 November 2025

Kansas City Chiefs 28-31 Dallas Cowboys

Dallas have moved up one spot in the NFC play-off standings to ninth at 6-5-1 and next week they travel to Detroit who sit just one place above them, so that's another massive game for this improving Cowboys outfit.

Beat the Lions though, and things start to open up ever so slightly as the Cowboys then have three of their last four games against teams with losing records, with their toughest opponents being the Chargers - who they play at home.

With such strong teams above them such as San Francisco, Green Bay and Seattle, Dallas will likely need to win all five of their remaining games to stand a chance of a wildcard spot.

The way they've played the last two weeks though they feel they can beat anyone right now.

  7. We can do anything in front of us - Prescottpublished at 01:10 GMT 28 November 2025

FT: Kansas City Chiefs 28-31 Dallas Cowboys

Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott has been named the game's MVP and spoke to CBS before he and his team-mates tucked into the Thanksgiving turkey - well, they began to before tight end Jake Ferguson ran off with it!

"We were able to show our resilience and keep fighting," said Prescott. "Now this is our third win in a row.

"With the confidence that we have, we can do anything in front of us."

The Cowboys now have a 6-5-1 record and may have to win their final five games to make it into the play-offs.

  8. FT: Huge win for Cowboyspublished at 01:02 GMT 28 November 2025

Kansas City Chiefs 28-31 Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys comeback continues with a third straight win, and victories over both of last season's Super Bowl sides in the space of four days!

Dak Prescott was excellent and his receivers were outstanding, both George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb proved unstoppable at times and that extra cutting edge proved the difference.

Patrick Mahomes also played well, but he wasn't helped by penalties from his team on both sides of the ball and in the end he never got a chance to win it as Dallas controlled the clock to see it out.

As huge as that win is for Dallas and their play-off hopes, it's a massive blow for Kansas City - who are now in real danger of missing the play-offs.

  9. Two-minute warningpublished at 00:57 GMT 28 November 2025

Kansas City Chiefs 28-31 Dallas Cowboys

Big first down just before the two-minute warning as Dak Prescott finds George Pickens and that's the game in the bag now for the Cowboys with Kansas City all out of time outs.

  10. Flag!published at 00:51 GMT 28 November 2025

Kansas City Chiefs 28-31 Dallas Cowboys

Such a late flag comes in from the sideline against Jaylen Watson on George Pickens - that's a third defensive pass interference call on the Chiefs in the game.

They've all been so-so calls and that's the same, in a big game like this you'd much rather the officials let the players play a bit more. Huge call that for Dallas.

That was not easy. It required the perfect throw and the perfect catch.

This is such high-level football all round from both teams. This game's not over.

  12. touchdown

Touchdown - Chiefs back in itpublished at 00:47 GMT 28 November 2025

Kansas City Chiefs 28-31 Dallas Cowboys

He's called Hollywood Brown for a reason as that's a Hollywood cacth by the Chiefs receiver at the back of the end zone, leaping like a salmon to go up and grab the high ball.

But he's then got the nous to get the toe drag swag in and get both feet down in bounds. Chiefs are back in business but the defence needs to somehow stop Dak Prescott as time ticks away.

  13. First downpublished at 00:45 GMT 28 November 2025

Kansas City Chiefs 21-31 Dallas Cowboys

Patrick Mahomes is feeling it now, as he takes off and gets 10 yards and the first down at the 10-yard line. It's a bit like last week, only he's away from home against a red-hot offence in opposition.

  14. Unbelievable!published at 00:43 GMT 28 November 2025

Kansas City Chiefs 21-31 Dallas Cowboys

No way! Patrick Mahomes is tripped, almost tackled, but then heaves the ball deep as he's falling to the ground, right down the throat of Xavier Worthy for a huge gain.

That's breathtaking stuff to get the Chiefs in the red zone.

  15. Sack!published at 00:42 GMT 28 November 2025

Kansas City Chiefs 21-31 Dallas Cowboys

Worst possible start for Patrick Mahomes, who has ages in the pocket but can't see a free receiver and is then brought down by Jadeveon Clowney again.

That's a big loss and a long way back from here.

  16. field goal

Field goal - Cowboyspublished at 00:40 GMT 28 November 2025

Kansas City Chiefs 21-31 Dallas Cowboys

Dallas fans had their hearts in their mouths on a couple of plays there., but they can relax a little now as Brandon Aubrey comes out to knock over an easy short field goal.

It's a 10-point lead for Dallas with just over five minutes left - the Chiefs will have to pull out something special here to save the game, and possibly their season.

  17. Fumble!published at 00:39 GMT 28 November 2025

Kansas City Chiefs 21-28 Dallas Cowboys

Oh wow, now Dallas fumble it through George Pickens in the shadow of the end zone, but KaVontae Turpin uses his speed to dive on the ball and recover possession for the Cowboys.

  18. Almost picked!published at 00:38 GMT 28 November 2025

Kansas City Chiefs 21-28 Dallas Cowboys

Dak Prescott throws on the run but it's tipped and almost picked off by the Chiefs! Just a warning there that the job is not done yet.

  19. Wow!published at 00:35 GMT 28 November 2025

Kansas City Chiefs 21-28 Dallas Cowboys

Breathtaking stuff from Dallas as Dak Prescott immediately launches a huge bomb down field and CeeDee Lamb takes in the ctach for 51 yards and already into Chiefs territory!

The Chiefs have just had no answer to these big plays from the Cowboys receivers tonight, as straight away the Cowboys are sniffing points..

  20. Huge drop forces Chiefs puntpublished at 00:32 GMT 28 November 2025

Huge, huge drop by Rashee Rice, who has been excellent tonight but has been guilty of drops a few times over the last few weeks.

He manages to make his way into space beyond the first-down marker and Patrick Mahomes lays it on him pretty nicely, so the drop is an unexpected one and has Mahomes looking up to the skies in disbelief.

You'd expect him to catch that nine times out of 10, but the Chiefs have to punt it away as a result.
