Mike Ford believes Bath's style of play will see them compete for trophies, despite their quarter-final defeat by Leinster in the Champions Cup.
The English club lost 18-15 to their Irish counterparts on Saturday, despite scoring two unanswered tries.
"We were playing all the attacking rugby and, in the long run, to compete for trophies we need to play like that," Ford told BBC Somerset.
"After not playing particularly well with ball in hand, we could have won."

Bath, currently third in the Premiership, are at lowly Newcastle on Friday.
Since the change of format in 2001-02, Bath have never won the league title, with their last triumph coming in 1996.
"There is a Premiership to be won," Ford added. "We are pretty pleased that it is a short turnaround in some respects because we just want to get out there and play again.
"We believe that we can get it right. We are going to take some beating."
