Barrow Raiders have signed centre Ryan Shaw from Super League side Warrington Wolves on dual registration terms until the end of the season.
Barrow-born Shaw, 20, who has had spells at Castleford and Leigh, goes straight into the squad for Sunday's derby game against Workington Town.
"From an early age he's been a prospect," Barrow coach Darren Holt told BBC Radio Cumbria.
"All the reports I have had about Ryan have been good."
Shaw, who is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Wolves, is the son of former Barrow player Neil Shaw.
