Bayer Leverkusen's Hakan Calhanoglu scored his 10th goal of the season in all competitions

Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich rested players as they slipped to only their third defeat of the season away at Bayer Leverkusen.

Pep Guardiola's side won their 25th German title title last weekend.

And with a Champions League semi-final first leg against Guardiola's former club Barcelona to come on Wednesday he made six changes.

Hakan Calhanoglu put Leverkusen ahead with a free-kick, and Julian Brandt's goal on the break made the points safe.

Elsewhere, second-placed Wolfsburg were held to a 2-2 draw by struggling Hannover.

Stuttgart are now bottom of the table after Klaas-Jan Huntelaar's brace saw them slip to a 3-2 defeat at Schalke.

A Lukas Rupp double saw Paderborn boost their survival hopes with a 2-1 success over Freiburg as Werder Bremen edged a 1-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.

Augsburg played out a goalless stalemate with Cologne while Borussia Dortmund were held to a 1-1 draw at Hoffenheim.
