Southend United 0-0 Cambridge United

  • Published

Southend United's hopes of automatic promotion suffered another blow with a dismal goalless draw against Cambridge United at Roots Hall.

Just before half time, David Worrall volleyed John White's cross straight at Cambridge goalkeeper Chris Dunn.

Former Southend striker Matt Harrold could have put the visitors in front but Daniel Bentley caught his header.

There was a long delay as Southend's Luke Prosser was taken off after being hit by Ryan Donaldson's free-kick.
