Matt McClure: Wycombe lose appeal against red card

Wycombe Wanderers' appeal against the red card shown to Matt McClure just 70 seconds after he came on against Tranmere Rovers, has been rejected.

McClure, 23, was sent off in Tuesday's game for leading with an elbow in an aerial challenge with Adam Dugdale.

He came off the bench in the 67th minute and was dismissed in the 68th.

Wycombe had submitted video evidence to the Football Association in an attempt to overturn the decision, but McClure will serve a three-game ban.
