Swindon swap Leon Clarke for Charlton's Paul Benson

Swindon Town have agreed a swap deal with League One leaders Charlton Athletic to sign striker Paul Benson in exchange for Leon Clarke on 1 January.

Benson, 32, has made three appearances this term, and was set to join Town in November but the deal collapsed.

Robins boss Paolo di Canio told BBC Wiltshire: "He spent a few days with us and the fact that he wants to join us again means that we've done well."

Clarke has fall-out with Di Canio.

The 26-year-old scored nine goals in 16 games for the Spireites after his September move.
