Forest Green Rovers centre-back Gavin Caines has left the club after his contract expired.

The 27-year-old spent just one season at the Blue Square Bet Premier side, making 43 league appearances.

The former Cheltenham Town defender joined Rovers last August and scored on his debut in a 3-1 away defeat by Mansfield Town.

Forest Green have recently signed Jamie Turley and Chris Todd to bolster their defensive options for next season.
