The difference between BRB and the pub which it has replaced, The Hallamshire Hotel, couldn't be bigger. The old Hallamshire used to be a venue for many gigs, was a bit tatty round the edges, but had its own, unique atmosphere. BRB is very cool - both in the decor which is pretty minimalist, and in the clientele. Having said that, it's not one of those places where you feel too intimidated to walk in - what's more likely to put you off is the volume of the music when there's a DJ on. The best thing about the bar is the food - stone baked pizzas to die for. But on the whole, it's probably the kind of place you're more likely to go to for a pre-club drink than a cosy chat. - Jenny Dunn Barry Pseudonym The pizzas are indeed pretty ace (if you like thin crust), but it's not the most 'fabulous' pub, or the cheapest. Still, the discount card they try and flog you does help with that... Not bad. Not bad at all. (05/12/05) John Your reviewer cleary missed the excellent beer garden. Possibly the nicest place to be sat on a warm summers evening. Good, cheerfull and attentive staff too. KatieB I can't believe anyone could criticise this place! The pizzas are delicious and everything is such good value! I bet you rant to anyone that will listen about "the good old days..." Ed 'The Stoat' O'Sullivan I'm terribly sorry but do have to disagree with your man Meaks's comments. Nothing has been destroyed here, but only improved beyond one's wildest imagination. The decor, clientele and food have taken this fabulous emporium to new heights, and without wanting to sound as though I'm plagiarising Ali with regards the pizza's, they trully are scrummy, some might even say delectable. Mrs O'Sullivan and I have spent numerous crazy nights experiencing the delicious range of alcopops they offer, so we have. Bob The hallamshire was, no doubt, the greatest pub in sheffield at one point (1987-1990). now this place makes me cry a bit inside. Matt The Pizzas and doubles for £2 just says it all! Meaks One of the last decent pubs on West Street to be destroyed and turned into another faceless, nitro-keg, overpriced alcopop bar. A sad loss. Ali Tasty, imaginative pizzas - the "Santorini" and "Fiorentina" ones are scrummy. Good VFM even when it's not 2-4-1 which is Tuesdays. Good food, drink & vibe. recommended.
