The pub has just undergone the most amazing transformation you can imagine. It looks absolutely stunning and people who knew this venue before will remember it as a grotty hole that hadn't seen a lick of paint since the the late 60's. A good mixed bag of folk get in, young and old get on famously. They have started with meals and the prices are some of the cheapest I've seen for a pub. Jacket spuds with fillings from £1:50 to £1:75. A full 3 course sunday lunch from £5:50. Burgers and sandwiches from £2:30 all come with side salad. Pets are welcome (so are kids). Johns Smiths (£1:50) is bang on , I don't drink Tetleys (£1:65) but most of my mates say it's great. Stella Artois on draught, fosters, Carling and a couple of draught ciders add to the choice not to mention the variety in fun drinks, WKD, VKI, breezers and all them sort. plenty of parking. Hey and only come if you like a laugh. If you like a punch up with your beer then you are definately NOT WELCOME so don't bother coming. Otherwise, tell them Johnny G sent you. - John Gardner
