Join some of the world’s most exciting young classical musicians at the Royal Ballet and Opera, Covent Garden for a musical journey that takes us from the cities of South America to the depths of the Russian countryside. With stop offs on the way, look out for musical postcards from the Scottish Highlands, Paris and Madrid and stand by for a surprise or two along the way! For the past twenty five years, the BBC’s New Generation Artists scheme has helped to nurture the talents and careers of some of today’s top classical musicians. In the starry line-up for this special festive concert we welcome Scottish jazz pianist, Fergus McCreadie – whose albums have topped the UK Jazz & Blues charts and earned him a Mercury Prize shortlist. Also appearing is the dazzling soprano, Erika Baikoff, an alumna of the prestigious New York Metropolitan Opera and Verbier Festival talent schemes, Erika is already making debuts in some of the world’s great opera houses and concert halls. Also in the concert are the multi-award-winning Arod String Quartet and guitarist Thibaut music which reflects their own Spanish and French roots. Join the brightest young musical talents for a journey to remember.
