France and India close to landing fighter plane deal

France and India are on the final approach of a defence deal worth $35 billion. It would see France delivering more than a hundred French made Rafale jet fighters worth 35 Billion dollars. The talks are taking place as a major conference on AI gets underway in Delhi. It’s being attended by major players in the tech industry including the likes of Alphabet and Open AI. Warner Bros Discovery, which has been in takeover discussions most recently with Netflix, says it will temporarily re-open its negotiations with a rival studio in the latest twist of its takeover drama. Paramount Skydance will now be able to engage with Warner Bros for seven days, opening up the prospect of a bidding war to take over the company. And in South Africa reports of gold particles being discovered near Johannesburg have sparked a mini gold rush. Dozens of people armed with pickaxes and shovels have been digging up a cattle enclosure, hoping to strike it rich.
