Fameye was crowned highlife artist of the year at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards, but as he tells DJ Edu, he’s still working to come up with a musical style all his own. The Ghanian star established himself in 2019 with the hit song Nothing I Get. It resonated with Ghanaians because of the distinctive highlife/hiplife sound and the lyrics, which talk about having nothing and yet still being subjected to envy. Since then, Fameye has released many more songs and albums including Songs of Peter and Three Times of Peter. Peter is his given name, but also his artistic alter ego. He has recently revealed a third alter ego, Antonio, the name of his father, a police officer who died when Fameye was a baby.
