Microsoft’s $68.7bn Activision Blizzard takeover blocked in the UK

David Harper hears about Microsoft's $68.7bn (£55bn) deal to buy US video game company Activision Blizzard being blocked in the UK by the Competition and Markets Authority. The proposed takeover would see Microsoft acquire such hit titles as Call of Duty and Candy Crush. The Bank of England's top economist has said people in the UK need to accept that they are poorer otherwise prices will continue to rise. The Panama Canal, which connects the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans is one of the world's busiest shipping routes, accounting for around 6% of global maritime trade. But it has a major problem.
