The Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) says global oil demand will rise to 110 million barrels a day in about 20 years, pushing the world’s energy demand up by 23%. The former chief executive at the car firm Audi has been given a 21-month suspended sentence by a court in Germany for his role in the diesel scandal in 2015. Rupert Stadler has also been fined nearly a million pounds, over the use of software, which made diesel cars appear less polluting than they really were.
