Coronavirus: Protesting truckers

For the past fortnight, the world has watched Canadian truckers block roads to protest against Covid restrictions. A rule that required any truckers entering Canada from the US to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 or face a 14-day quarantine triggered the demonstations. The protests then grew to include different people who are angry at other Covid restrictions and also at Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's government. Host Karnie Sharp hears perspectives on the protest in Ottawa, and brings together two residents on what it’s like to live and work in the capital, amid the trucks and the wailing horns. We also consider the removing of other restrictions, specifically the rule during the pandemic to work solely from home. We bring together people living in South Africa, Nigeria and the United States to hear their stories on what it’s been like to spend almost two years doing your job from home. They share the unexpected pleasures and also why they are nervous about remembering how to behave in an office with colleagues once more.
