There’s a disinformation war over the conflict in Syria. With reporting on the ground increasingly difficult, who can you trust to bring you the truth? BBC Trending has unearthed a network of very influential Twitter accounts, some with tens or hundreds of thousands of followers, who push conspiracy theories. Plus authorities in the UK say social media is fuelling an escalation in knife attacks. We look into those claims and ask, have social networks really changed the nature of street violence?
