My Golden Voice Saved Me from Addiction

Ted Williams was homeless in the US when a recording of his "golden voice" went viral. He had been struggling with an addiction to drugs and alcohol. But after the viral fame ended, he was able to recover and he now he has his own radio show. Outlook's Colm Flynn went to meet him. Ivan Sprajc has been nicknamed the Slovenian Indiana Jones - he's an archaeologist working at the Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts. He's been hacking his way through the dense tropical forests of Mexico's Yucatan peninsula in search of the remains of the ancient Mayan civilisation. Leezan Salam from Iraq is a student turned teacher at the Baghdad School of Music and Ballet. The school was set up in the late 1960s to give students both an artistic and a full academic education. But in recent times its dancers have become targets for extremists who think ballet is un-Islamic. Leezan has risked her life to keep dancing.
