Trump's America: One Year On

Business Daily

Available for over a year

The US economy continues to boom, the stock markets continue to rise, but how much credit can the new president take for it? The BBC's Adrienne Murray reports from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, which swung behind Donald Trump in the elections. Are voters there happy with what he has delivered? Nobel economist Robert Shiller is certainly sceptical, as he makes clear to presenter Ed Butler. Two other economists from the right-wing end of the political spectrum - Jeff Miron of the Cato Institute, and former Trump advisor Stephen Moore of the Heritage Foundation - debate the merits of the president's tax and trade policies, and are not quite as upbeat as you might imagine.
