Somalia's first direct elections in over five decades

BBC OS

Available for 5 days

Residents of Somalia's capital Mogadishu are voting in municipal polls, the country's first direct elections in more than 50 years. Under the current system, clan representatives elect lawmakers. We hear from voters about what this historic moment means to them. Earlier this year, Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston sparked debate with her comments on why she never considered adoption. She said "I want my own DNA in a little person". We speak to women around the world about their choices - whether to adopt, pursue biological motherhood, or take a different path. And we look back at 2025 to uncover the biggest trends that shaped the film industry. Presenter: James Reynolds.
