Russia launches 'massive' attack across Ukraine

BBC OS

Available for 7 days

Russia carried out a "massive" overnight attack on several Ukrainian cities, President Volodymyr Zelensky has said, a day after he warned of strikes over the Christmas period. We get the latest. We also speak to our Russia Editor Steve Rosenberg, who reflects on the year in Moscow. Israel's defence minister has issued a statement saying that his suggestion that military units might be established in Gaza was made purely in a security context - and there was no intention of establishing a settlement in the enclave. Our reporter from BBC Arabic explains. And we talk to people with insomnia about their experiences of having problems sleeping.
