Weekend

Expires on Tuesday 9:00am

“We got used to losing friends”: a former professional tennis player turned soldier tells his story as Ukraine is about to mark 4 years since Russian forces invaded. We speak to Hamdan Ballal, one of the co-directors of Oscar winning documentary "No other land". It portrays the destruction of Palestinian communities in Masafer Yatta, in the West bank, as more Israeli settlers move in and how local Palestinians are treated by them and the Israeli security forces. Also, Deep Azure, a play written in 2005 by the late actor Chadwick Boseman premieres in the UK. We catch up with its director, Tristan Fynn-Aiduenu talking about the powerful story of love, grief and justice. Joining presenter Julian Worricker to discuss these stories are Leslie Vinjamuri, president of Chicago Council on Global Affairs and Hugh Lovatt, a Senior Policy Fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations.
