EU calls emergency meeting on Greenland

Weekend

Available for 29 days

Protesters in Greenland took to the streets in the capital as furious European leaders called Trump’s threats intimidation and blackmail, after the US president threatened to impose tariffs on Nato allies who pushed back on his plan to own Greenland. We get the latest political reaction from Denmark. Also in today’s programme: we hear from the husband of an Iranian Nobel Peace Prize winner who has been detained by the authorities for over a month; and we head to Morocco ahead of the final of the Africa Cup of Nations, where the hosts take on Senegal. Presenter Rebecca Kesby is joined by Rim Turkmani, Assistant Professor specialising in Syria and the Middle East at the London School of Economics, and Henry Chu, interim curator of the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard University.
