White House names members Gaza Board of Peace

Weekend

Available for 25 days

The Trump administration has named US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and former UK prime minister Tony Blair among others as members of its Board of Peace for Gaza. It forms part of President Trump’s 20-point plan to end the war between Israel and Hamas. Also in the programme: the daughter of a journalist arrested before the recent protests in Iran tells us about the brutal treatment her mother has suffered in jail; and a Russian teacher who filmed war propaganda classes in his school and made an Oscar-nominated film out of it. We hear from David Borenstein, the director of the film, Mr. Nobody Against Putin. Presenter Rebecca Kesby is joined by Dimitar Bechev, Director of the Dahrendorf Programme at the European Studies Centre, St Antony’s College, University of Oxford, and Jana Bakunina, a Russian-born author and investment specialist.
