UN says atrocities carried out against non-Arab civilians in Sudan

Newsday

Available for 23 days

A United Nations fact-finding mission in Sudan has determined that atrocities carried out against non-Arab civilians by the Rapid Support Forces point to genocide. The paramilitary group captured the city of El Fasher, in Darfur, in late October. A court in Seoul is due to deliver its verdict in the insurrection trial against former South Korean president Yoon Suk Yeol relating to his December 2024 declaration of martial law. Prosecutors have asked for the death penalty. And the boss Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, has defended his company from claims it targeted young users. Presenters: James Copnall and Anne Soy.
