People mourn US civil rights leader Jesse Jackson

Newsday

Available for 29 days

People are mourning the death of Jesse Jackson, a leader of America's civil-rights movement. He was a protege of Martin Luther King in the 1960s and ran twice for president. We remember him with his long time political colleague and friend, Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters. Congress in Peru has removed it's interim president, Jose Jeri. He served for four months and was ousted for failing to disclose a meeting with a Chinese businessman. And a lawyer representing several third-country nationals, deported from the United States to Cameroon, has confirmed to the BBC that a new group of around eight people arrived in the country earlier this week. Reports say none of the migrants are Cameroonian nationals.
