Bangladesh Nationalist Party claims victory

Newsday

Available for 24 days

The Bangladesh National Party is projected to have won a landslide victory in Thursday's general election. Its leader, Tarique Rahman, has been congratulated by the US and India. We get a reaction from the winning party. President Trump has revoked the 2009 endangerment finding on public health that underpins US regulations on greenhouse gas emissions. The White House called the decision the largest act of deregulation in US history and claimed it would end what Mr Trump called the green scam. And we report on Cuba where emergency measures are in place to save energy. It comes as the US moves to block the island nation from importing oil and after the Trump administration cut off fuel shipments from Venezuela and threatened tariffs on any other country that continues to supply the communist-run nation.
